In an indication of a major improvement to its communication services, WhatsApp has started testing new audio and video call capabilities for its Android customers.

These capabilities, which provide an indication of the platform’s future advancements, were found in the Android beta version of WhatsApp 2.25.10.16, according to information that GSM Arena was able to receive.

The first feature enables users to answer calls while muting their microphones by introducing a mute button for incoming voice calls.

Users can quickly handle their calls with this function, which shows up in the notification panel.

According to GSM Arena, this function may be helpful in busy settings when users need to reduce background distractions, even if its practical uses are still being thoroughly investigated.

The second function gives customers a few seconds to get ready or protect their privacy by allowing them to switch off their camera before taking video calls.

Users who respect their privacy or who need time to gather their thoughts before going on camera may find this option very helpful.
Additionally, since individuals won’t show up on the screen right away after accepting a video call, it provides an extra degree of protection when receiving calls from unknown numbers.

Emoji replies for video conversations are the third feature, which enables real-time emoji reactions from participants.

With the help of this function, users may interact with people more dynamically and express themselves more effectively during video calls.

Some WhatsApp for Android beta testers may already use these functionalities, and in the next weeks, more users will be able to utilize them as well.

Users may anticipate further upgrades and improvements that address their changing requirements and preferences as WhatsApp keeps improving its platform.
