Ratu Atonio Rabici Lalabalav, the Minister of Health and Medical Services of Fiji, met with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Monday in Delhi.

He and Lalabalav spoke about continuing medical and health cooperation, which Jaishankar described as an “important pillar” of a long-standing connection between the two countries.

To explore strengthening collaboration on skilled worker mobility to Fiji, Union Minister of State for External Affairs (MoS) Pabitra Margherita met with Fijian Minister for Employment and Industrial Relations Agni Deo Singh on February 19.

“Happy to welcome Hon. Agni Deo Singh, Minister of Employment, Productivity and Workplace Relations of Fiji today,” Margherita said on X. We spoke about measures to improve collaboration on skilled worker movement to Fiji and strengthen our bilateral connections.

On February 15, Fiji Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka met with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar at the Munich Security Conference (MSC) in Germany.

Mutual respect, collaboration, and close cultural and interpersonal links are the cornerstones of India-Fiji relations.

The High Commission of India in Suva claims that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s November 2014 visit to Fiji, which coincided with the First Meeting of the Forum for India-Pacific Islands Co-operation (FIPIC), significantly strengthened the two countries’ bilateral ties.

India has helped Fiji throughout the years with capacity development as well as nation-building initiatives in many important areas.
