Holy Kaaba History: A total of five pillars have been mentioned in Islam, the fifth pillar of which is Hajj. All healthy and financially capable Muslims who believe in Islam are expected to go on Hajj pilgrimage at least once. It is believed that after performing Hajj, all past sins are forgiven and the Hajj pilgrim can start his life again. This is the reason why every year millions of Muslims from all over the world go to Mecca city of Saudi Arabia for Hajj.

They take seven rounds of the Kaaba

The most important stop of the Haj pilgrimage is Kaaba. After reaching Mecca, Muslims who come for Haj pilgrimage come to Masjid Al Haram and pray by circling the Kaaba seven times, this process is called Tawaf. During Tawaf, there is also a custom of touching and kissing the black stone placed on the eastern corner of the Kaaba. Muslims believe that Prophet Ibrahim and his son Ismail built the Kaaba in Mecca on the orders of Allah. After Basron, Allah told Prophet Muhammad to make such arrangements that only Allah is worshipped in the Kaaba. 

What is inside the Kaaba?

According to the information, the interior of Kaaba is about 180 square meters. There are three wooden pillars inside it to support the roof. White marble is laid on the floor and gold and silver lamps are also inside Kaaba. To put it simply, it is an empty room. The place inside Kaaba has also been marked where Prophet Muhammad prayed.  

Who has the key to Kaaba?

Kaaba is a kind of closed room, which opens only a few times a year and only some special people are allowed to go here. According to the information, there is only one door to enter Kaaba, which is called Bab-e-Kaaba. The key of this door was with Dr. Saleh bin Zainul Abedin Al Shebi. He died last year. It is said that the Shebi family has the responsibility of keeping this key safe since the time of Prophet Muhammad. Dr. Saleh was now the 109th heir of the Shebi family. After the death of his uncle Abdul Qatir Taha Al Shebi in 2013, Dr. Saleh was given the responsibility of the key. 

Who can enter inside the Kaaba?

Access to the Kaaba, the holiest place for Muslims, is very limited. Generally, only a few special people are allowed to enter it. This includes Islamic leaders and dignitaries. Apart from this, religious scholars and clerics can also get entry into it. Special guests of the Saudi government are also allowed to enter the Kaaba on special occasions.
