Indian actress Swara Bhasker has registered her angry outrage over the latest Israeli attack on Gaza’s Al-Nasr Hospital, where reports have indicated a journalist and others being burned alive.
Taking to Instagram in an impassioned post, Swara admitted that she was unable to remain unmindful of the atrocities being witnessed in Gaza, as much as she tried to focus on mundane matters like sharing experiences with her daughter, surfing the net, or going shopping.
She wrote of the tragic images of parents grieving their children, the destruction wrought by bombings, and the cruelty of individuals being burned alive or walking around with the remains of their loved ones in plastic bags. “This is not merely an assault on Gaza—this is an assault on our shared humanity,” she wrote.
Swara labeled the violence an abomination of human rights, declaring that the world is observing these atrocities in real-time but barely speaking out. She cautioned that such atrocities must never be condoned as normal and reminded that entertainment or consumerism cannot be used as cover against moral responsibility.
She called upon everyone to remain vigilant, shun desensitization, and speak out against what she termed as acts of genocide.
Gaza is now facing one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world, with almost 100 children reported to be killed or injured daily.
