Mumbai: Kedar Jadhav, the former Indian cricketer, has officially joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as of Tuesday.

At 39 years old, Jadhav made headlines last June when he announced his retirement from all forms of international cricket. His induction into the ruling party took place in the presence of state BJP president Chandrashekhar Bawankule and other prominent leaders.

Bawankule mentioned, “He will travel across the state to engage with the youth and will play a key role in bolstering the BJP's sports wing in Maharashtra.”

However, details regarding Jadhav's specific role or responsibilities within the party have yet to be disclosed.
