Dubai: Under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, the 49th edition of Middle East Energy, the biggest energy show in the area, came to an end at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

The Africa Business Leaders Forum, which brought together professionals and investors to discuss investment potential, challenges, and collaboration between Africa and the Middle East, was also held at the event.

The main topic of discussion was how creative finance and calculated alliances may open up investment in Africa. Ahmed Al Mulla, Executive Vice President of Infinity Power, gave the opening comments before the discussion was moderated by Anna Hajduk of African GreenCo Group. He emphasised how Africa’s abundant solar and hydroelectric resources contrast with the continent’s inadequate infrastructure, which deprives more than 600 million people of energy.

One successful example was Morocco’s renewable policy. The Xlinks project, which aims to produce 10 gigawatts of renewable energy for export to the UK, was addressed by Fatima Zahra Khalifa, General Manager of Cluster ENR at Morocco’s Climate Innovation Centre.

Kirloskar Oil Engines Ltd’s Optiprime dual-core generator (1,000 kVA), the smallest in its class, and the Sentinel series for small-scale applications were among the advances shown during the event.

The biggest and most successful edition to date, according to Mark Ring, Director of Energy Exhibitions at Informa Markets, included record-breaking attendance, significant product introductions, and the premiere of the Battery Show, which will grow even more in 2026.
