Indian stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra recently took a jab at Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s controversial reality show Bigg Boss, referring to it as a “mental asylum.”

Kamra was officially invited to appear in the upcoming season of Bigg Boss. In response, he sarcastically stated, “I’d prefer checking into a mental asylum over being part of Bigg Boss.”

The comedian posted this comment on social media, where he had shown the note from the show’s casting director. The director told him to take up the position in the upcoming season and mentioned that the name Kamra had come into play while conducting the cast. The director continued, “I know you might not be keen, but it’s a great platform where you can reach a million people. Can we chat about it?”

Kamra turned down the invite immediately, joking about a popular song from Salman Khan’s Radhe in his reply, which tickled his fans.

It is interesting to note that Bigg Boss Season 18 ended in January, and the new season is likely to go on air later this year with Salman Khan as the host.

Known for his political satire and outspoken opinion, Kamra has frequently made it to the news. On one occasion, when he was performing at Habitat Studio in Mumbai, Shiv Sena activists felt severe discontent and caused a ruckus, which was captured live on social media and started again the debate regarding freedom of speech.

Kamra has gained a reputation for his bold style of comedy, frequently mixing political satire with biting social commentary. His recent remark regarding Bigg Boss has again put him in the limelight.

Earlier, A break of two years from films for Bollywood hunk Salman Khan has finally returned on the silver screen with his newest movie Sikandar, released on March 30 to coincide with Eid celebrations. Acting with him was the actress Rashmika Mandanna in the role of the leading lady.

In spite of huge expectations from this A.R. Murugadoss-directed movie, it has failed to create a buzz at the box office. Salman Khan’s magic this time did not seem to work, and the movie has met with a cold response from audiences.

One of the greatest disappointments of this disappointing performance was encountered by Rashmika Mandanna. Previously, she had been on a roll, with her recent movies doing exceptionally well. But her debut collaboration with Salman Khan did not impress audiences and was greeted with a flood of negative reviews.
