Citing Swamp, Znews reports that DJ Koo’s significant weight loss is attributed to his deep grief over Hsu’s passing, which has made it difficult for him to eat and caused him to cry daily, further deteriorating his health.
To help support him through this difficult time, Hsu’s younger sister, Taiwanese host Dee Hsu, and her family have been inviting DJ Koo to dinner every week, sources claim. Now based in Taipei, DJ Koo reportedly has only one friend there, and with no other family nearby, he has been enduring his sorrow in solitude.
Sources reveal that the musician has put all entertainment activities on hold and is focusing on creating a statue in memory of his late wife, which is planned to be placed at her grave once completed.
Similarly, Dee Hsu has taken a break from her hosting job to cope with the grief of losing her sister. However, unlike DJ Koo, Dee remains active on social media.
Earlier this month, rumors surfaced claiming that Hsu’s jewelry, said to be part of an inheritance left for her daughter, had appeared at an auction. Speculation arose that Dee Hsu and their mother had sold the jewelry. Dee subsequently denied the allegations, urging the public to stop spreading false rumors about her late sister.
Barbie Hsu, known for her roles in popular drama series such as “Meteor Garden,” “Mars,” and “Summer’s Desire,” passed away at the age of 49 due to pneumonia- complications, her family confirmed on Feb. 3. Her funeral was held on March 15.
Hsu married DJ Koo in Feb. 2022, following her first marriage to Chinese businessman Wang Xiaofei, which ended in 2021 after 10 years. Hsu and Wang share two children: 11-year-old Wang Hsi Yueh and 9-year-old Wang Hsi Lin.
Meanwhile, Wang, 44, registered his marriage to 26-year-old businesswoman and influencer Mandy Ma in May 2024. The couple is expected to hold their wedding ceremony next month.
