A new privacy feature can soon be added to Meta's instant messaging app WhatsApp, which is being called "Advanced Chat Privacy". This feature is being prepared especially for iOS users and its purpose is to make the conversation of users more secure.

What is the Advanced Chat Privacy feature?

According to the report of WABetaInfo, this feature has been seen in the beta version 25.10.10.70 of the WhatsApp iOS app. With the arrival of this feature, users will get additional control over the security of their sent media.

What will happen with this feature?

Ban on media auto-save: If you turn on this feature, then the other user will not be able to automatically save the photo or video sent by you in the gallery of their phone.

Ban on chat export: No one will be able to export the chat done with the user who has turned on this feature. That is, it will no longer be possible to send your conversation to any other device.

Restrict interactions with Meta AI: This feature can potentially also limit interactions with the Meta AI chatbot, keeping your private information even more secure.

How will this feature work?

When this feature is turned on and a recipient wants to save media, a popup will appear in WhatsApp: “Advanced chat privacy has been turned on, and prevents media auto-saving to your device's gallery.”

This feature is currently in development and is not yet available to beta users registered under Apple's TestFlight program. It is expected to be rolled out to beta users in the coming weeks.
