Mukesh Ambani’s strategy to relaunch old beverage brand Campa Cola has become successful. It has achieved over Rs 1000 crore in revenue within just 18 months. It has achieved this target with cheap pricing and distribution network and consumer-centric approach and also created a big challenge in front of established players like Coca-Cola and Pepsi. Campa-Cola’s Comeback Campa-cola was a famous cold-drink brand during the 1970s and 1980s. It was acquired by Reliance Retail in 2022. Mukesh Ambani relaunched it in March 2023 with a pricing strategy which was similar to Jio. They started selling 200 ml PET bottles only for Rs 10 which was half the cost of its competitors. This pricing strategy worked among price sensitive Indian consumers and Campa Cola gained instant popularity. Campa-Cola Margins Reliance used its retail network of Reliance Fresh Smart Stores and JioMart to reach Campa Cola across India. The brand also offered retailers margins of 6–8% which was very much higher than global competitors. These strategies worked for Campa Cola not only to reach in consumers but also made it popular among retailers. Campa Cola has captured over 10% market share in some states its revival has now changed the Indian beverage industry. Coca-Cola and PepsiCo have also reduced their prices and introduced new packaging to attract more customers.Still Campa Cola’s aggressive pricing strategy has made it a challenger for existing brands in the beverages market. Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL) has announced plans to invest Rs 500–Rs 700 crore in expanding production capacity.  Jio Strategy  Mukesh Ambani’s Campa Cola strategy is similar to its launch of Jio. When Reliance Jio entered the telecom market it was launched with much cheaper prices than its competitors. After the price war Reliance Jio emerged as a leader and gained huge market share. Campa Cola has also started on the same note with low pricing strategy and also aggressive advertisement campaigns through IPL.
