Tawwur Hussain Rana, the main accused of the Mumbai terror attacks (26/11) after a long wait and legal process, is now under India's arrest. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has started interrogation of Tehwwur from today itself. A special team has also been formed for this. The NIA said that Tehwavur was arrested after being brought to India. Whereas the US said that this is an important step for the victims of the attack towards justice. Israel has also expressed happiness over this matter.

After the appearance, the court has sent Tahwwur Hussain Rana to 18 days judicial custody. During this time, the NIA team will interrogate him, besides those questions and answers will also be searched, whose waiting agencies were waiting for the last several years.

The American Gulfstream G550 aircraft left for India on Wednesday with Tehwwur Rana. This special aircraft landed at Palam Technical Airport in Delhi at 6.22 pm on Thursday evening. Shortly after landing, he got out of the plane at 6.30. Then after completing the formal process, he was arrested under UAPA at 6.40 pm. His medical test was done at the airport itself.

IG-DIG level officials will interrogate

The special thing is that Tahwwur Rana was brought to Delhi from America in the dress of prisoners from America itself. After the medical test was conducted at the airport, he was brought to the Patiala House Court in Delhi under tight security. Special Nia Judge Chandrajit Singh was produced in the court at 10:30 pm. The hearing lasted for a long time in the court.

Tehwavur was arrested under sections 120B, 121, 121a, 302, 468 and 471 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), as well as sections 16,18 and 20 of UAPA. A lawyer has been arranged by Delhi Legal Cell to advocate Tahwwur. Advocate Piyush will advocate him in Sachdeva Court.

On the third floor of the headquarters, the IG and DIG level officials of the investigating agency will start interrogation from tonight. Here he will be under the supervision of CCTV for 24 consecutive hours. It is being said that at least 30 questions will be sought from Tahwwur.

Media personnel removed from court campus

Earlier, the police removed media persons and common people from the court campus, citing security reasons before the presentation of Tahwwur in Patiala House Court. While asking the media persons to go out (from the campus), the police said that she is making sure that the court campus remains completely empty.

Police officials cited security concerns to ban the entry of people in the court campus and said that no one would be allowed to enter. Meanwhile, Senior Advocate Dayan Krishnan and Special Public Prosecutor Narendra Mann, who are representing the NIA, had already reached the court campus. However, he did not comment.

NIA-NSG team brought Delhi

After being extradited from the US, the NIA said that Tahawwur Rana, the main accused in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, was brought to India after successfully extradited from the US. Then he was formally arrested here. The agency said that the team of NIA and National Security Guard (NSG) has brought Tahwwur to Delhi.

According to the NIA, the agency team arrested Tahawwur soon after completing all the necessary legal formalities. Earlier, the agency said in a statement that this extradition could be done after many years of continuous and concrete efforts to bring the main conspirators of the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks under the judicial process. 166 people were killed in a 26/11 terror attack in Mumbai by 10 Pakistani terrorists.

PAK's role expected to be revealed in interrogation

After coming to India, Tehwavur will have to face judicial process in the country. At the same time, investigators hope that the role of Pakistan's government elements in the 26/11 terror attacks may also be revealed in his interrogation. Sources say that investigators also hope that the inquiry will find important clues about the trips to North and parts of South India before the terrorist attacks.

Sources say that the terrorist Tahavvur Rana visited Hapur and Agra, along with his wife Samraj Rana Akhtar, between 13 November to 21 November 2008 before the terrorist attacks.

On reaching Delhi to Delhi, the US also responded that this extradition is an important step towards getting justice for the victims of this barbaric terror attack. A spokesman for the US Justice Department said that the US on Wednesday extradited Canadian citizen of Pakistan origin to run India to run a case on 10 criminal allegations related to his alleged role in the Mumbai attacks.

The US Justice Department spokesman told PTI, "The extradition of Tawwur Rana is an important step towards getting justice for those 6 Americans and many other victims, who were killed in these barbaric attacks." At the same time, former India Home Secretary Gopal Krishna Pillai expressed the hope that Tahavvur Rana will definitely be convicted. He can also be punished for involvement in this heinous terrorism.

On the other hand, Israel's Ambassador to India Ruven Azar welcomed 64 -year -old Tehwwur Rana to India. New Delhi -based Israeli Embassy shared video media, in which Ambassador Azar said, "We are happy to hear about the extradition of an accused of an accused in Mumbai's barbaric terror attacks on 26 November 2008, killing many innocent citizens including Israelis." At the same time, he also thanked the Government of India for the commitment of bringing terrorists into the dock of justice.
