Indian singer Sonu Kakkar has revealed that she is no longer on speaking terms with her well-known siblings, singers Neha Kakkar and Tony Kakkar.
In a tearful post posted on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) recently, Sonu broke the news, although she later removed the post.
She wrote, “With a heavy heart, I would like to let everyone know that I am no longer the sister of two brilliant superstars, Tony Kakkar and Neha Kakkar.”
Sonu went on to add, “This decision has come out of extreme emotional pain, and today I am actually heartbroken.
So far, Sonu has not made any clarification, and the surprise announcement—coupled with deleting the post—has left fans bewildered. Both Neha and Tony Kakkar have remained silent on the matter.
Indian media reports that tensions have been brewing between the siblings, who were earlier known to be quite close to each other and publicly support each other on numerous occasions.
Sonu, Neha, and Tony have frequently worked together on music projects and were praised for their family harmony and stage chemistry.
Earlier, Indian playback singer Neha Kakkar was unable to hold back her tears after facing the fury of fans for arriving three hours late for her concert in Melbourne. Her tearful pre-concert video has gone viral on social media.
Neha got extremely bad flak when the fans blamed her for being a professional as she kept delaying. She apologized on stage and tearfully tried to explain herself, but some of the audience members were still not satisfied and criticized her, stating, “This is not Indian Idol.”
The instant Neha stepped onto the stage, there were some people who accepted her apology, applauded, and cheered for her, while others continued to vent their anger and shout slogans against her.
