In the early 90s superstars like Rajesh Khanna Amitabh Bachchan Rishi Kapoor Vinod Khanna started stepping away from lead roles and a new generation of lead actors stepped in to fill their space. While the three Khans and Akshay Kumar became lead stars there were several other actors too who were competing for the top spot. Among them was a young actor who made a terrific debut and was even touted to be next Rajesh Khanna. But his promising career came to an end by a risky contract he signed. The actor is none other than Prithvi Vazir popularly know as Prithvi. His made his film debut in 1992 opposite Divya Bharti in Dil Ka Kya Kasoor. The film was a sleeper hit and Prithvi became an overnight sensation. Several filmmakers wanted to cast him after watching his spectacular performance. He became an alternative to young stars like Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar who were considered unsuitable as romantic leads.   View this post on Instagram   A post shared by Prithvi Vazir (@prithvivazirofficial) At the peak Prithvi signed a contract that became the reason for his downfall. He was forbade from doing films outside the production house which led him to loose superhits like Darr and Deewana that eventually became Shah Rukh Khans launchpad. In an interview with Jhakaas Bollywood in 2021 Prithvi revealed I was trapped in a contract from which it was very difficult to get out. And they tied up my peak time. I didn’t disappear. I was always alive in the hearts of my fans. I could not do films as I was stuck in the contract.” In 1994 Prithvi moved to television and eventually settled for supporting roles in films such as  Daraar Ghulam and Hogi Pyaar Ki Jeet. The actor began doing B and C grade films like Chudail Ki Raat and Kothewali. Since then he appeared in small roles in films such as Humraaz and Jimmy among others. In 2004 Prithvi made a cameo appearance in Dhaak.
