The Chennai Super Kings are up against the Lucknow Super Giants at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on Monday for match no.30 of IPL 2025. The big change for CSK, who have been struggling this season, is bringing in young batter Shaik Rasheed to replace Devon Conway. The 20-year-old from Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, is looking to make an impact after catching everyone’s eye with his performances for the Indian U19 team that won the World Cup in 2022. He played a key role in the semifinals and finals and scored a solid half-century in the final.

Rasheed has been with CSK since 2023, but he’s finally getting his chance after the team bought him for Rs 30 Lakh at the 2024 IPL auction. So far, he has made 1204 runs in 19 First Class matches with an average of 37.62 and a strike rate of 46.04, hitting two centuries and seven fifties. In T20s, he has scored 352 runs in 17 games at an average of 29.33 and a strike rate of 127.07, including one century and one fifty.

CSK is hoping to turn things around after four straight losses, and with MS Dhoni winning the toss and choosing to field first, Rasheed might just play a crucial role in their chase as the game progresses.
