Crores of people travel by Indian Railways every day. People hesitate to travel with cash due to fear of theft, but sometimes cash is needed where UPI does not work. In such a situation, if you also often travel by train and do not carry cash, then this news can prove to be useful for you. Indian Railways has taken a very good step for the convenience of passengers. Now if you need cash in the middle of the train, then you do not need to worry, you will be able to withdraw money from an ATM on a moving train.
Indian Railways has started the facility of withdrawing money from ATMs in a moving train. A successful trial has been done for this. This will be the first time in India that someone will be able to withdraw money from an ATM on a moving train or an ATM has been installed on a train. Currently, this special facility has been started in the AC coach of Panchvati Express, which runs between Manmad of Nashik and Mumbai.
Which bank's ATM is it?
According to Bhusaval DRM, the initial results of this special facility are good. Now people will be able to withdraw money even on a moving train. The performance of the machine will be monitored continuously because there is some problem in withdrawing cash at many places where there is a network problem. This is an ATM of the Bank of Maharashtra. ATM facility has been started in the train under the partnership between the Bhusaval Division of Railways and the Bank of Maharashtra.
Service can be started on other trains as well.
Panchvati Express' rake 12071 is shared with Mumbai-Hingoli Jan Shatabdi Express, so this train will now prove useful for long-distance passengers traveling from Nashik and Manmad to Hingoli. Three rakes have been shared for both trains.
According to railway officials, if the on-board ATM service gets a good response from the passengers, then it can be implemented in other major trains of the country as well. Its direct benefit will go to the passengers they will not need to stop at any station to withdraw cash. They will be able to withdraw money from the ATM on the train during the journey itself, which will make their journey even more convenient.
