Prime Minister Narendra Modi (PM Narendra Modi) chaired a high -level meeting regarding the cleanliness of the Yamuna Nadi, including Home Minister Amit Shah (AMIT Shah), Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena and other senior officials attended. In this meeting, a three-level plan for cleaning the Yamuna was discussed. Everyone agreed to adopt an overall and organized approach to clean the river. The aim of the government is to revive the Yamuna river and provide a clean river experience to the residents of Delhi. The main focus at the meeting focused on drain and sewage management, industrial and dairy waste control, disposal of solid waste, restoration of river flow and making the river banks green.

'Mass movement' to connect Yamuna to public

A proposal for a holistic 'Urban River Management Scheme' has been presented to Delhi, which will be associated with the master plan Delhi, so that the balance of development and environment is maintained. Underlining public participation as the soul of this campaign, the Prime Minister said that a 'mass movement' will be started to connect the river with the public. The active participation of the volunteers will not only clean the river, but the emotional relationship of the people will also be stronger.

Modi special mention of Chhath Puja said that this festival has deep cultural relations with Yamuna, and it is necessary to improve its experience. The meeting also discussed monitoring through space technology and real time data, so that drains and treatment plants can be taken care of. The areas up to Delhi, Haryana and Prayagraj of Yamuna were overall reviewed.
