Patna Preparations are on for the second round of talks, which will be held on April 24 at the Congress state headquarters, Sadaqat Ashram, in Patna, after the first meeting of the Grand Alliance’s (Mahagathbandhan) Coordination Committee.
Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) Chief Mukesh Sahani, State Congress President Rajesh Ram, State Congress in-charge Krishna Allavaru, Coordination Committee Chairman Tejashwi Yadav, and members of the Left parties, including CPI-ML, CPI, and CPI-M, would also be present at the meeting.
This conference, according to Congress sources, would be centered on planning for the next Bihar Assembly elections, organizing a coordinated campaign across the state, and initiating a large-scale agitation against the state government that will begin in May with coordinated demonstrations and events scheduled in various districts.
Parties are anticipated to propose their first seat requests at this meeting, opening the door for talks, even if the ultimate seat-sharing formula will not be decided at this time.
The inclusion of the Vikassheel Insaan Party, which did not join the Grand Alliance in the 2020 Assembly elections, calls for a modification of the prior seat-sharing agreement.
According to the Grand Alliance’s 2020 seat-sharing model, RJD ran for 144 seats, Congress for 70, CPI-ML for 19, CPI for 6, and CPI(M) for 4.
It is anticipated that the number of VIP tickets would decrease when they become part of the Grand Alliance.
A Congress representative reiterated the party’s position, which Krishna Allavaru had stated during the April 17 session, by confirming that no decision would be made on the chief ministerial face in the next meeting.
RJD officials, like as state spokesman Mrityunjay Tiwari and Rajya Sabha MP Manoj Jha, have insisted that Tejashwi Yadav would serve as the Grand Alliance’s main ministerial spokesperson.
Their comments the day after the meeting on April 17 are seen as a covert rebuttal to Allavaru’s impartial stance.
The Congress is certain that the choice of the CM candidate would be made later, maybe nearer the next Assembly elections, in spite of the pressure.
It is anticipated that the meeting on April 24 will emphasize the growing competition for leadership projection inside the alliance and set the stage for coordinated campaign operations.
