After the arrival of AI in the country, the expert warned about the rapidly changing scenario and its impact on the life of the middle class and said that in the coming days, the biggest threat from this will be on the middle class salaried people. Saurabh Mukherjee, founder and chief investment officer of Merculus Investment Managers, believes that India is now entering such an economic era, where there will be no job guarantee for educated and hardworking urban Indians.
During a podcast titled Beyond the Paycheck: India’s Entrepreneurial Rebirth, Mukherjee clearly warned that salaried jobs, which were long considered the best in terms of financial security, are now on the verge of dying. He said that this decade is going to prove to be very bad for such educated and hardworking people in terms of salaried employment.
His statement is also fully supported by the emerging data and the impact on India's white-collar economy. The role of AI is increasing rapidly in every sector. Middle-class jobs are being reduced in companies like technology, finance, and media. According to Mukherjee, the work that was to be done by white-collar workers is now being done by AI. Google said that about one-third of its coding work is being done by AI. Similarly, this is going to happen in the Indian IT, media, and finance sectors.
