Creme Egg fans are amazed after seeing the huge machines responsible for making the sweet treat.
The much-loved is an staple which makes its grand return to UK shops from New Year's Day until Easter Sunday. Confectionery giant has shared a mesmerising glimpse of the production process, offering fans a rare peek at how these seasonal favourites are crafted.
The iconic treat is known for its unique egg-like design featuring a thick milk chocolate shell complemented by a gooey centre which mimics a standard chicken egg with white and yellow fondant acting as the "yolk."
As the Easter period approaches, it's not uncommon to find chocolate lovers hurrying to snap them up, ensuring they have their fill before the treats disappear from the shelves until the following year.
While plenty are familiar with the Creme Egg ingredients, the actual creation process has been something of a mystery, at least until recent big reveal.
Cadbury's official Instagram account provided a tantalising look at the complex machinery involved in churning out thousands of these eggs en masse. The video has already captured the attention of almost 200,000 viewers, and was accompanied with the simple caption: "The most satisfying content you've seen all day."
The footage shows molten chocolate being poured into half-egg moulds. In the next clip, the two egg halves were filled with the iconic white and yellow fondant-like substance, though how it was added to the chocolate was left to the imagination. After that, the two egg halves were merged seamlessly by automatic precision, resulting in the perfect whole Creme Egg.
Cooling comes next, with the temperature drop reportedly helping the half-eggs to fuse firmly together. After they solidify, they're removed from the moulds and then wrapped up in the traditional vibrant foil of red, purple, and yellow, and then swiftly packed, ready to hit the distribution lines and eventually, eager taste buds across the nation.
In the comments section, fans were quick to express their delight over the behind-the-scenes insight. One user said: "Wow so clever," while another simply shared: "Mmmmmm", accompanied by a red love heart emoji.
A third enthusiast pleaded: "MAKE THEM BIGGER" and a fourth admirer described them as: "A thing of beauty."
Another commenter declared: "The best chocolate!!" Meanwhile, one fan jokingly confessed: "Wow I watched this 1484838 times."
One avid fan said: "I think cream eggs should be available all year round!!" While another commented: "I just need a lifetime supply please."
Another said: "Oh wow," as others tagged their friends to share the excitement.
Cadbury's, the quintessential British chocolatier established in 1824, has risen to global fame, becoming a household name in confectionery.
With operations spanning 50 countries, Cadbury's boasts an array of popular treats including Dairy Milk, the festive Roses selection tins released each winter, and the iconic Creme Egg.
The Creme Egg's journey began with Fry's in 1963 before Cadbury's took over and rebranded it in 1971.
Originally crafted with Dairy Milk chocolate for its thick shell, Cadbury's sparked controversy in 2016 when it opted for a standardised, less costly chocolate blend, much to the chagrin of Creme Egg aficionados.
