Mukesh Ambanis younger son Anant Ambani has got a big responsibility in Reliance Industries. He has been appointed as the Whole Time Director of the company. Anant Ambani has got this responsibility for 5 years. Anant Ambani has been working as a non-executive director on the board of Reliance till now and now he will step into an active executive role in Indias largest company according to market capitalization.
The company said in a stock exchange filing that the approval has been given by the board based on the recommendation of the Human Resources Nomination and Remuneration Committee. Anant Ambanis appointment will be from May 1 2025 and will remain for five years subject to the approval of the shareholders.
Anant Ambani also has these responsibilities
Apart from his role in RIL Anant is on the boards of several Reliance Group entities including Jio Platforms (since March 2020) Reliance Retail Ventures (since May 2022) and Reliance New Energy and Reliance New Solar Energy (since June 2021). He is also serving as a board member of Reliance Foundation since September 2022.
This move further strengthens the Ambani familys involvement in key businesses. Anants siblings Akash Ambani and Isha Ambani are already non-executive directors on the board of RIL. Akash is the chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm the groups telecom and digital service branch while Isha is an executive director at Reliance Retail Ventures Limited.

Revenue grew by 9.91% during the quarter to Rs 264573 crore from Rs 240715 crore in the same quarter last year. Analysts had anticipated a 5-6% decline in sales.
