"How low will Congress stoop!": Kiren Rijiju targets Opposition party after 'Gayab' jibe at PM Modi

New Delhi [India], April 29 (ANI): Union Minister Kiren Rijiju on Tuesday slammed the Congress over its 'Gayab' jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying he "abhors" the party's tactics."When our Prime Minister is leading the fight against terrorism strongly, why does Congress have such a low opinion of him? How low will the Congress stoop? I abhor this Congress party's antics," Rijiju posted on X.Odisha Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan said the opposition should stand with the nation during such attacks, instead of criticising the government."The PM and the Government of India have taken the right steps in response to the Pahalgam terror attack and will continue to do so. But instead of supporting them, the opposition is sending a pro-Pakistan message. Their statements are condemnable," he said. The Congress had posted an image of PM Modi labelled "Gayab," implying his absence from the recent all-party meeting held after the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam. The post has drawn sharp criticism from BJP leaders and allies.BJP national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia said the Congress's post signals that it "stands with Pakistan," dubbing the party "Lashkar-e-Pakistan Congress.""A strong message has been given to Pakistan that supporters of Mir Jafar are present in India. 'Sar tan se juda' has become the ideology of Lashkar-e-Pakistan Congress today," Bhatia said.Congress MP Jairam Ramesh on Monday had criticised PM Modi for skipping the all-party meeting. He said Modi had time to campaign in Bihar but did not attend discussions on the terror attack."PM Modi should join the discussions in Parliament and explain what happened. There is no political agenda here. Our only message is unity," Ramesh added. (ANI)
