The results of the board examination are about to come, so it is natural for the students to be overwhelmed. Stress to meet expectations – whether it is their own, parents or colleagues – anxiety, self -doubt and fear. According to the 2023 report by the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), about 74% of school students at the age of 13–18 experienced excessive concern about examinations and results, out of which more than 40% of which described the fear of disappointment of parents as a major trigger. In response to increasing concerns about the stress of results, school and teachers are adopting sympathetic strategies to support students, calm and confident.

At this time, schools and teachers play an important role in providing emotional support, guidance and approach.

1. Conversation about emotions and failures

Encourage open discussion in class or through special sessions where students can express their fear and expectations. Create a safe, non-innovative place where failure is not forbidden but a part of the learning journey. Teachers share stories of their failures and explain how they return, this can normalize conflicts and reduce stigma.

42. Include school counselor quickly

Actively include the school counselor to organize a group or face-to-face session before and after the results are declared. They can equip students with practical techniques to manage stress – such as Jernling, Breathing Exercise, or simply identifying negative thought patterns. Counselors can also help parents about how to be emotionally available and non-reactive during this stage.

3. Preference

We can encourage them by celebrating every child's visit and by not evaluating them on the basis of their exam report card. This approach will help them understand that focusing on learning skills and individual development is more important than rote concepts. The education industry is moving from the performance-operated model to the development-humanity structure and is encouraging students through this technology. Schools are actively trained teachers to assess the merit, mentality and progress of students.

4. Empowering parents

Parents play an important role in shaping the lives of children. Participation strategies of parents are implemented by students, making them aware of the emotional intelligence and mental health of the students, including school workshops, webinars and communication toolkits. These initiatives help to encourage families, reduce performance pressure and create a supportive environment at home during significant academic milestones.

5. Creating a positive environment on result day

School-thinking school results are turning the day into a positive, student-centered experience. Rest corners and mindyfulness activities to teachers check-in and quiet reflection locations, are designing school results-day protocols that prefer sympathy, care and assurance on check or decision
