Apply for passport online this way

You can apply for passport online from home. For this, you have to go to the official website of passport service https://passportindia.gov.in. After this, you have to click on 'New User/Register Now' there. Then you have to complete the registration by filling your name, date of birth, mobile number and email ID. After this, you have to login to the portal with user ID and password.

After logging in, you have to click on the option of 'Apply for fresh Passport'. After this, you have to enter your name, address and the rest of the information asked in it. And click on submit. After this, you will see the option of 'Pay and Schedule Appointment'. By clicking on it, you can fix the date of your appointment at your nearest passport service center.

This much payment will have to be made

After making the appointment, you will get the option of payment in which you can make payment through net banking, debit card, credit card or UPI. If you are applying for a normal passport, you will have to pay a fee of up to Rs 1500. For instant passport, you will have to pay extra money. After completing the payment, you will get a receipt, you have to download it.

The passport will be available after verification.

After this, you will have to go to the passport service center on the scheduled date. You will have to take your documents with you there. All the information entered by you will be verified. This also includes police verification. After the verification is complete, the passport will be delivered to your registered address.
