New Delhi: Sai Sudharsan continued his sensational run with another blazing knock at the top of the order in Match No. 51 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 between the Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Sudharsan, who has been in red-hot form this season, played yet another magnificent knock to reclaim the top spot in the Orange Cap list. Sudharsan displayed his range against a star-studded new ball bowling attack, including Mohammed Shami and Pat Cummins.

He showed no mercy to Shami and smashed five boundaries in the third over of the innings, taking 20 off the second over of the India international pacer.

Sudharsan showed elegance, precision and power to punish the SRH bowling attack in the powerplay. He continued his dream opening partnership with skipper Shubman Gill as GT breached the 50-run mark in just four overs. The duo have now stitched six 50-plus opening stands in the first 10 games – the most by a side this season.

Sudharsan, in the process, completed a milestone and reached 2000 runs in T20 cricket. He reached the landmark in 54 innings and bettered the record of none other than Tendulkar, who completed 2000 runs in 59 innings.

Former Australian batter Shaun Marsh tops the list.

Sudharsan, Gill reign supreme

Sudharsan was looking good for his sixth half-century, but Zeeshan Ansari had other ideas. The Uttar Pradesh leg-spinner broke the 87-run opening partnership by dismissing Sudharsan for 48 in the seventh over. Sudharsan, who hit nine boundaries in his whirlwind 23-ball knock, crossed the 500-run mark in IPL 2025.

He sits atop the Orange Cup standings with 501 runs, 10 matches at a stunning average of 50.40.

While Sudharsan failed to cross the 50-run mark, Gill managed to reach the milestone. He now has five 50+ plus scores this season.

Earlier, Sunrisers skipper Pat Cummins won the toss and elected to bowl in Ahmedabad. SRH are playing with an unchanged side, while GT included South Africa pacer Gerald Coetzee in place of Karim Janat.
