Hania Aamir’s reportedly new Instagram account for Indian fans has made a splash on social media. The Pakistani actress, who has a strong fan following in Pakistan and India, is said to be being followed by her Indian fans via VPNs, as her official account is being blocked in India due to recent developments.

In the midst of this, a post went viral on social media stating that Hania had opened a new Instagram account with the handle “naaamtousunahogaaa” solely for her Indian fans so that they could view her posts without any limitation. A screenshot that was going around online seemed to indicate that Hania’s original account was following this new account, adding to the speculation.

However, when the account was visited, it was found that Hania’s official Instagram account was not present in the followers list, which raised doubts about the claim being genuine.

These viral screenshots have also drawn criticism from Pakistani fans, with most accusing Hania of pandering to Indian fans for the sake of getting work or attention in India. Comment sections on the supposed account’s posts were riddled with criticism from Pakistani users accusing her of selling out for fame.

During the controversy, another screenshot was found online that purported to be from Hania Aamir’s team declaring the whole controversy a misunderstanding. The announcement explained that Hania’s older private account had been removed by Instagram, so she created a new one using the same name. However, this new account was not made private, which led to the misunderstanding. The announcement stressed that Hania’s actions were not to gain fans or work in India.

But there is no official confirmation or such explanation in sight on any of Hania Aamir’s official PR or confirmed accounts, leaving doubts about the validity of both the claimed new account and the explanation quoted in her name.

Most think that this is yet another ruse in a series of coordinated disinformation efforts after recent tensions, where false news about Pakistan’s military, political leaders, and now celebrities is being spread. Hania Aamir has not made any public statement regarding the issue, and her official Instagram handle is still active, although she has decided to remain quiet on the subject thus far.
