At least five passengers were killed and two were seriously injured after a helicopter crashed near Ganganani in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. A total of seven people were onboard the helicopter and were going to Gangotri Dham.

Administration and relief teams are present at the helicopter crash site.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami shared the news on social media and expressed condolences to the family of dead.  “May God grant peace to the souls of those who died in the accident and give strength to the bereaved families to bear this immense loss," he wrote.

Dhami said he has instructed the administration to provide all possible help to the injured and investigate the accident. He informed that he is constantly in touch with the officials and is monitoring the situation.
