The District Women’s Court-cum-5th Additional District Judge Court, presided over by Justice N. Padmavathi, sentenced 29-year-old D. A. Akhil Ambedkar of Seethayyapeta village to ten years of hard jail in a case filed at Bobbili Police Station in 2022.
In addition to that ₹15,000 punishment for abusing a lady sexually while pretending to be in love and then declining to marry her.
SP Vakul Jindal said that the accused physically abused a lady from Pachipenta Mandal after deceiving her with false promises of marriage. The accused was taken into custody and placed under detention after the case was lodged by then-inspector M. Nageswara Rao. The prosecution, under the leadership of Additional Public Prosecutor N. Shakuntala, obtained the conviction with strong evidence.
The court proceedings were overseen by Bobbili Inspector K. Satish Kumar, while court head constable M. Manmadha Rao and policeman CH. Soujanya made sure that witnesses were presented on time. SP Jindal praised the officers for enforcing the law quickly.
