Board of Cricket in India (BCCI) Done IPL 2025 Have taken a fast decision to remove uncertainty about the uncertainty. The tournament was stopped earlier this week due to increasing tension between India and Pakistan. There are still 16 matches to be played including playoffs and finals. The BCCI has now decided that if the situation in India is not good, then three other possible places have been selected for the remaining IPL matches.
On May 9, IPL 2025 was suddenly stopped when the 58th league match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals had to be canceled between security reasons. This decision was taken after talks with the representatives of the teams and the rest of the important people to ensure the safety of the players, officials and spectators. The tournament began on 22 March and its final was to be held on 25 May at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Now that the tournament is halted, the BCCI is working on new options to successfully complete it. There are currently 12 league matches and 4 playoff matches, which will decide the winner of this T20 league.
Amid security concerns, BCCI has chosen three cities to host the remaining IPL matches – Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad. But the scheme will be implemented only when the tournament will be resumed in May. According to Espncricinfo report, BCCI is quite cautious about this decision. The future of the league depends on the situation between India and Pakistan. If stress remains, the tournament can be held at the end of the year.
Another concern in the event of starting the IPL in May is that many foreign players have returned to their country due to security reasons, causing uncertainty about their return. Out of the three possible cities, only Royal Challengers Bangalore remains in the playoff race, while Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings have already been out of the tournament.
