In a significant move, Bangladesh has secured the services of former Australian pacer Shaun Tait as their new fast-bowling coach. Tait, who has previously worked with several international teams, has signed a contract that will run until November. His appointment comes after the conclusion of Andre Adams' contract, marking a fresh chapter for the Tigers’ bowling department.
Tait is no stranger to the world of coaching. He has held coaching roles with prominent teams across various leagues, including the Pakistan Super League (PSL), the Lankan Premier League (LPL), and the Big Bash League (BBL). Tait also served as the bowling coach for the West Indies Test team, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. His experience extends to the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), where he was the head coach of the Chittagong Kings in the 2025 edition.

Looking forward to his new role with Bangladesh, Tait expressed his excitement, stating,
“It’s a good time to be involved with the Bangladesh cricket team right now, a bit of a new era if you like. It’s been spoken about many times recently—the young talent with the fast bowlers—which is great.”
Tait’s focus is clear: developing a strong and competitive fast-bowling unit that can deliver consistent results. He continued,
“This is international cricket, not a development team, and everyone expects the talent to bring results, which is very much my focus with the fast bowling group and most importantly, getting more wins for the team.”
Tait’s emphasis is on results, and he aims to push Bangladesh’s pacers to new heights under his guidance. will work closely with emerging pacers like Nahid Rana, Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, and Hasan Mahmud, hoping to mold them into key assets for the national team. As an international cricketer, Tait’s experience in six Tests, 35 ODIs, and 21 T20Is, where he claimed 95 wickets, will undoubtedly be invaluable. Bangladesh’s upcoming series against the UAE will offer the perfect opportunity for Tait to begin his journey with the team.
