Linen is the clothing essential that sees many shoppers through summer. It balances style with comfort and this year, the linen trend is not going anywhere and it is all about elevating your daily look in the most effortless way.

There are lots of options on the high street and high quality linen can be costly due to the labour work to harvest and process the material. It's always been regarded as the "rich people clothing". But I found one product that is comfortable for repeated wears and is wallet-friendly.

The priced at £45, are cut in a flattering wide leg silhouette and feature an elastic waistband with pockets.

Shoppers can go for a co-ord style with the matching blouse, £29, but the Boho Tie Top is not my go-to style for the city so I ditched it and chose the (£98) instead. Instead of a bright white hue, I prefer the trousers in natural colour much more.

The cream beige tone is a closer colour to skin colour and is the perfect camouflage to cover underwear. Those who don't want their underwear to be seen under sunlight can opt for black, but remember light coloured clothing reflects light and absorb less heat so would tick the boxes.

Over the weekend, I wore my Next linen trousers to sun-drenched Brighton for a day trip. I could or risking a wardrobe malfunction if I wore a skirt. However, I found the trousers a tad too long for my 5'3" height, I stepped on them and tripped over at the beach.

That embarrassing moment reminded me that I have to take an inch off the hem of the trousers. But this linen number got me compliments from my friends, who said: "It looks so good on you, it's soft and light to touch, goes well with your blue linen shirt."

Another suggested: "You can also wear it over your bikini on holiday and I like that it's not see-through." The trousers also come in generous size pockets that I can easily fit in my iPhone 15 Pro Max and the elasticated waistband gives a natural cinched waist effect without any tie belt needed.

, £98, are more formal and best suited for a smart casual outfit. It has a button fastening at centre front with zipped fly. More than 50 shoppers are eyeing up the piece online as the website showed and it comes in petite, regular and long in lengths. in White, £55, is a straight leg style crafted from a responsibly sourced cotton-linen.
