His first income came at the age of 13 when he earned Rs 35. However despite the highs and lows the actor never gave up on his dreams. He always believed that one day he would make it big—and that’s exactly what happened. Nana Patekar made his film debut in 1978 with the Hindi film Gaman. Although the movie wasn’t a blockbuster it gave Nana the recognition he needed to break into the industry. You might be surprised to know that Nana’s stardom has reached such heights that according to a recent report he was offered ₹15 crore for just 15 days of shooting—but he turned it down. To provide some context the offer was reportedly for a role in SS Rajamouli’s upcoming film SSMB29. According to sources Rajamouli himself traveled from Hyderabad to meet Nana at his farmhouse in Pune personally narrating the script to him. The role was that of Mahesh Babu’s father—Mahesh being the lead actor in the film. Despite the interesting character Nana declined the role. Reports suggest that he was not impressed with the part and therefore chose not to be a part of the film.
