Flooding in Nigeria’s Niger State this week has killed 151 people and forced several thousand from their homes, an emergency official told Reuters on Saturday. ด้านสำนักงานจัดการเหตุฉุกเฉินรัฐไนเจอร์เปิดเผยว่า อาคารบ้านเรือนราว 500 หลังได้รับผลกระทบ และประชาชนมากกว่า 3,000 คนไร้ที่อยู่อาศัย
ทั้งนี้ เมื่อปี 2565 ไนจีเรียประสบอุทกภัยรุนแรงที่สุดของประเทศในรอบกว่า 10 ปี ส่งผลให้มีผู้เสียชีวิตกว่า 600 ราย ประมาณ 1.4 ล้านคนไร้ที่อยู่อาศัย และพื้นที่เกษตรกรรมราว 440,000 เฮกตาร์ หรือ 2.75 ไร่ได้รับความเสียหาย

ไนจีเรีย “เซ่นน้ำท่วมใหญ่” – Over 500 households had been impacted and more than 3,000 people displaced. The flooding incident in the central town of Mokwa in Niger State occurred on Wednesday night and continued into Thursday morning. Days later, rescuers were still picking through mud and debris in search of bodies. Nigeria is prone to flooding during the rainy season, which began in April.
