Delhi: In the final of IPL 2025, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Punjab Kings (PBKS) by 6 runs to win the title for the first time. The match was played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and with the victory, the Bangalore team ended the year old wait.

Special moment for Virat Kohli

This victory was as special for the team, the more emotional it was for Virat Kohli. Kohli has been a part of this team since 2008 and this victory in the final became the most golden moment of his long journey. Earlier, RCB reached the finals (2009, 2011, 2016) three times, but had to face defeat every time.

Sehwag’s big statement

After this historic victory of RCB, former Indian batsman Virender Sehwag said a big thing about Virat Kohli. He said that now Kohli must have got a sigh of relief and if he wants, he can also retire from IPL.

“Now Kohli must have got relief”

Talking on Cricbuzz, Sehwag said, “Now Virat Kohli can sleep peacefully. If he wants, now he can also retire from IPL. The player plays to win the trophy, money keeps on coming. Kohli has contributed a big contribution in this title journey.”

Comparison with Sachin Tendulkar

Sehwag compared Kohli’s victory to Sachin Tendulkar, who fulfilled the biggest dream of his career by winning the ODI Cup in 2011. Tendulkar started his international career in 1989 and after 22 years he got the World Cup Trophy. According to Sehwag, this victory of Kohli is also historic in the same way.
