The Union Health Ministry has made some suggestions for schools to protect children from heat.

Ensure adequate water storage for regular hygiene requirements of students and teachers.

Keep the classrooms well ventilated with natural or artificial methods, such as fans, coolers, etc.

Especially during the warnings of heat stroke, avoid any external activities during excessive sunlight (12-3 pm).

Tell children about the importance of drinking sufficient amount of water and keeping the body cool.

Remind children about drinking water by playing a bell at a special interval.

Let children know about the signs and symptoms to heat/heat and about first aid.

Educate children to identify symptoms of lack of water in the body from the color of their urine.

The risk of dehydration in children is found in a study published in the Journal of Pediatrics in 2020 that 60% of children between the ages of 6 to 12 do not drink enough water in summer, which increases the risk of dehydration. All parents should ensure that the child consumes 2-3 liters of water and other fluids a day.
