As a fashion editor, I appreciate a summer dress that keeps things breezy, flattering and comfortable. So, when I was browsing the latest Debenhams sale, one floaty number caught my eye immediately. The Sienna, as Debenhams calls it, is a cream and black kaftan with a gorgeous boho mandala print, ticks all those boxes, and with 34% off in the Debenhams sale, it's a brilliant buy.
The kaftan style may be a perennial beach staple, but this dress is so much more than a cover-up. It is an inherently versatile and effortless piece that I think would offer easy style with zero faff. It's a casual dress, but would look good either with a pair of flat sandals on holiday or dressed up with a pair of heels or wedges.
Made from lightweight viscose, the Sienna kaftan dress appears to float around the body in the best possible way - airy, breathable, and elegant.
The deep V-neck and batwing sleeves are also great additions, not only to let air circulate on balmy days, but also to flatter a range of body shapes. The dress also has a high waist that appears to skim the figure softly without clinging.
Perhaps one of the only downsides of the dress is the size range. As it is a kaftan style, it comes in sizes 8-10, 12-14 or 16-18. Therefore, if you're after something a little more form-fitting, this might not be the dress for you. The size range is also fairly small, only running in sizes eight to 18.
That said, it is certainly a versatile option. Wear it during the day with flat strappy sandals and a floppy sunhat, to get it evening-ready, just swap in chunky wedges and bold accessories, or for on holiday, wear it open as a beach cover-up.
