Old Vehicles Ban In Delhi: The Central Government has decided to send private vehicles on 15 years to the wreckage following government vehicles to control pollution in the country. On the same backdrop, the old vehicles in Delhi will not get petrol and diesel from July 1. The decision has been taken by the CAQM (Commission on Air Quality Management). Such vehicles will be confiscated and scraped. The Delhi government and the traffic police have jointly planned. They have also found the hotspots of vehicles in the EOL, ie the ‘last phase of life’. This decision of the government will control noise pollution caused by old vehicles.

Oh my God! Recordbreaks selling car’s cars, electric cars to be expensive next month

About 1.5 lakh vehicles were known as EOL from June 1 to June 7. A total of 1.5 lakh vehicles have been identified. Automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) cameras have been installed on 499 petrol pumps. Of these, 3 are for petrol and diesel vehicles, while 3 are for CNG vehicles. On this, the authorities explained that no action will be taken on the old vehicles running on CNG. Due to the ANPR technology, the data of the vehicle can be recorded and tracked in real-time, so all information with the age of the vehicle is available in a few seconds.

In this regard, CAQM member Virender Sharma said, “We have finally decided to solve the problem of removing EOL vehicles from the roads.” The issue of removal of EOL vehicles from the streets of Delhi was raised in the National Green Tribunal and later in the Supreme Court in the Supreme Court, but it could not be implemented due to lack of technology like ANPA. Sharma said EOL vehicles spread pollution. Research has found that BS3 vehicles pollute 5.5 times more than BS3 vehicles.

What do the rules say?

According to the rules, 3 years or older petrol vehicles and more than 3 years old diesel vehicles are considered EOL. There are more than 3 lakh registered vehicles in Delhi. According to CAQM, about 3 lakh vehicles are Eol, out of which there are 1 lakh bikes. Officials said various agencies, including the police and transport department, would take action together. They will take action on vehicles operating on old BSII and BSIII fuel standards. Currently, India complies with BSVI, India Stage VI standards.

Delhi Police Active

Meanwhile, Delhi Police have started preparations. Special Police Commissioner (Transport) Ajay Chowdhury said, “No petrol pumps will not be allowed to deteriorate the situation of law and order, hope that people will cooperate and take their Eol vehicles to the scrapers at their own wishes.”

Which strict action will be taken?

CAQM said the ANPR cameras will be installed soon at all the 5 entrances to Delhi.

AnPR cameras at petrol pumps will find and declare their presence, after which a nodal officer will work with the implementation team.

Authorities said that a sufficient number of police and PCR vans would be deployed near petrol pumps, especially on hotspots.

“Petrol pump operators will be punished under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1949,” the CAQM said.

The seizure and disposal of ELO vehicles found at petrol pumps will be made in accordance with the RVSF rules and guidelines issued by the Delhi Government’s Transport Department. According to the CAQ, the same rules will be implemented in cities with density of five more vehicles like Gurugram, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddha Nagar and Sonipat from November 1. The rule will apply to the rest of the NCR districts from April 1 next year.
