Suryavanshi hit a swift-paced 45 with five fours and three sixes in it and he was all set to take the game strongly in the hands of India. Nevertheless his potential innings were ended in the 11th over as he was dismissed by pacer Jack Home. The young English speedster also had rubbed it in that when he sent Suryavanshi on his way he asked him to go and get changed in the dressing room. However it was a matter of who said the last word because it was Home who rejected the Indian opener and stopped his aggressive innings. Suryavanshi anchored the India team with No.3 batter Vihaan Malhotra after the early setback of losing the captain Ayush Mhatre in the opening over. The visitors were controversially put on the back foot when the Indian skipper was out in the first ball he faced. Mhatre was sent off early when AM French bowled him with a sharp delivery sending his stumps flying. On being sent in to bat India was able to score 290 but got out in less than 49 overs. Vihaan Malhotra (49) was the best batsman of the visitors and England had a star player with the ball in the person of AM French who bagged four wickets.
