According to Waifupulse, Blue Lock Chapter 309 opens with a narration highlighting that the U-20 World Cup is approaching fast, marking the beginning of the battle for survival. Titled “Reunion,” the chapter shifts focus back to Isagi and the main team after the recent drama involving Nagi and Buratsuta. With the countdown officially started, Ego launches the final 30-day training phase. As Isagi returns, he reunites with Bachira, Rin, Karasu, Hiori, Aiku, and Barou. Ego greets them, announcing that the 14-day special training has concluded.

• First match: Nigeria (last year’s African champions)
• Second match: France (the current world number one)
• Third match: England (birthplace of football)

The latter half of the chapter focuses on Nagi, who reflects on turning down Buratsuta’s offer and begins to question whether he made the right choice. He admits that accepting it would have felt like a betrayal of both Blue Lock and himself. 

Seishiro Nagi recalled that he still held a professional contract with Manshine City if he decided to keep playing soccer. Yet, he couldn’t quite figure out whether it was the sport itself or Blue Lock that truly fueled his passion. At that moment, someone snuck up behind him and pressed a finger gun to his head, declaring him “dead.” It turned out to be Igarashi Gurimu.

Just as the chapter leaked and translations came in, one reacted to it saying, “Now it becomes interesting. Igaguri may be a keyy.” A second added, “Buratsuta chooses Igaguri for the 3 additional Blue Lock players? GG LORD IGAGURI.” A third went on to add, “By the way, why does Nagi keep getting highlighted.”
