Bangkok. Thailand’s Prime Minister Partangtarn Shinawatra has been dismissed from the post for criticizing the Thai Army Chief during a conversation with the minister of Cambodia. The decision was taken after his phone recording was leaked, in which he was heard speaking against the army chief. This has intensified the political movement.
A constitutional court of Thailand on Tuesday removed Shinavatra from the post of Prime Minister with a 7–2 decision. The court said that the complaint lodged against her would be investigated, and if she is found guilty, she can be permanently disqualified from the post. The criticism of the army in Thailand is considered a serious crime, as the army has a widespread influence.
Enemy of enemy country
Thailand’s Prime Minister Partangtarn Shinawatra has been accused of calling Cambodia’s Senate Chief Hun Sen Sen (Cambodia’s Senate Chief Hun Sen). During the phone call, Shinavatra addressed Hun Sen as Uncle. During this conversation, the Shinavatra told Sen, while doing evil to the head of the Thai Army, told Sen that the generals who are currently posted on the Cambodia border (Cambodia Border) are their enemies, and that is why tension on the border is increasing.
After the leak of this phone call, there was a stir in Thailand’s calm politics. Seeing the dispute growing, Shinavatra immediately apologized, but by then the matter had reached the court. Now the court has termed this phone call against morality. The court has asked the investigation team to submit the report within 15 days. If the charge on Shinavatra is proved, then he may have to lose his post forever.
Allied parties left together
After the disclosure of the phone leak, Shinavatra’s associate parties have left him. This has weakened their government and coalition majority. Partangatarn has apologized on the matter, saying that his comment was only to resolve the controversy. However, the King of Thailand has allowed the cabinet to reshuffle after the dispute escalated. In this reshuffle, Shinavatra has made himself a culture minister. She says that she will now work to advance the Thai culture.
