The film was a hit all over the world. Its total earnings were Rs 132.60 crores. In this way the film Gadar earned 633 percent profit at the box office. It emerged as the highest grossing film of the year 2001 and was called an all-time blockbuster. The film was directed by Anil Sharma and the story was written by Shaktiman Talwar. In the year 2023 the action-packed sequel of Gadar Gadar 2 was released. In this Sunny Deol once again became famous as Tara Singh. Gadar 2 directed by Anil Sharma proved to be a blockbuster.
