Prince William and Princess Kate like to ensure their three children have as much privacy as possible away from the royal stage, however like most parents, they often can't help but mention them when out and about. While they don't reveal very personal details about Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, seven, they do sometimes reveal their children's latest hobbies and obsessions.

And a trip to Northern Ireland in 2021 was no exception to this. During a royal engagement, which saw Prince William, 43, and Princess Kate, 43, tour the campus petting zoo at Ulster University's Magee Campus, the dad-of-three was given the chance to hold a snake.

It was at this moment that he revealed which of his three children like the reptile.

When handed the snake, William said: "George is obsessed with snakes, he's going to be so upset he missed this."

While many royal fans were delighted at the insight, it was not the first time the parents had revealed a scary animal that their children liked.

Just a few years prior in 2018, Kate visited the Sayers Croft Forest School and Wildlife Garden in Paddington.

It was here that she revealed George and Charlotte both liked spiders, and would often actively search for them.

As reported by Hello!, the Princess of Wales told teachers at the school that she spends "hours" hunting for spiders with her two oldest children.

Over the last few years as the couple's children have gotten older, revelations about them have focused less on what animals they like and more about what hobbies they are pursuing at school.

Just a few months ago, William and Kate revealed that both their sons loved rugby, and had even begun playing matches, while their daughter is a fan of gymnastics and dance.

Stepping out at a rugby match in Cardiff earlier this year, William said: "At weekends we go from one competition to the next." Kate then said: "Louis is six and he's just started touch rugby and George is 11 and he plays a bit more. They do really enjoy it."
