Netflix has confirmed its longest-running unscripted series will be cancelled after ten seasons, but fans are not ready to say goodbye.

Queer Eye first landed on the platform in 2018 and has released nine seasons across six years. The award-winning reality show is a reboot of Bravo's 2003 series, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, and follows five LGBTQ+ advisers as they offer lifestyle makeovers to those in need.

Original cast members included food expert Antoni Porowski, designer Bobby Berk, lifestyle specialist Karamo Brown, fashion expert Tan France, and hairstylist Jonathan Van Ness. Berk left the series after season eight and was replaced by interior designer Jeremiah Brent.

The streamer confirmed the show's cancellation on social media, writing: "10 seasons. Fab Five. One last go 'round. The final season of Queer Eye is officially in production!"

Fans were quick to gather on X, formerly Twitter, to mourn the end of the makeover show. One viewer quipped: "This is not fair! Why is this the final season?!"

"I feel robbed, I deserved 10 more seasons of Jeremiah. You just can't give him to us and take him away this quick @QueerEye!," said a second.

A third penned: "The end of an era, oh my," while a fourth chimed in with: "Such a joy ride. Will miss my boys and my JV. I'm sad."

Another viewer posted two crying face emojis and exclaimed: "FINAL SEASON?!"

Although Netflix has not revealed the upcoming tenth season's release date, the final instalment will "celebrate the show's legacy and impact, spotlighting heroes from the nation's capital [Washington D.C]".

A synopsis for the latest series, which was filmed in Las Vegas, reads: "The group will once again assist a fresh crop of heroes with their fine-tuned expertise in style, grooming, interior design, culture, and food and drink.

"As we all know well by now, everybody who comes across the Fab Five leaves with lessons that they'll take with them everywhere - guess what happens in Vegas doesn't always stay in Vegas after all."

Queer Eye boasts 11 Primetime Emmy Awards and 37 overall nominations. It is the streaming service's longest-running unscripted show.
