Indian Railway Ticket Price Hike: Railway passengers are going to find it expensive to travel by train. Indian Railways has decided to implement a new fare tariff from 1 July 2025. With this change, the pockets of common passengers as well as long distance travel will be loose. However, it is a matter of relief that there has been no increase in some categories. According to the new railway tariff, there will be no increase in the general second class traveling up to 500 kilometers. But if the journey is more than 500 kilometers, then half the money will have to be paid.
Apart from this, those traveling in mail/express trains (non-AC) will now have to pay 1 paise more per kilometer. Similarly, the most changes have been made in AC category tickets. It has been increased by 2 paise per kilometer. There has been no change in the fare of urban trains, which will provide relief to millions of daily travelers. There has been no increase in the rates of monthly season tickets. According to reports, earlier the Railways had decided to change the rules of ticket booking. So far, if you book a train ticket, then you know four hours before your journey whether the ticket has been confirmed or not. But now the railway is working on a new system. Railways say that a chart with confirmed seats will be released 24 hours before the journey.
