According to Udaya Tithi, the festival of Nag Panchami will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 29. On this day, the auspicious time of worship will be from 5:41 am to 8:23 pm. Thus, the total duration of worship will be about 2 hours 43 minutes.

What is the reason for feeding Nag?

According to the information received, the mythological story is attached to the Nagpanchami on the day of Nagpanchami. According to which, Abhimanyu’s son King Parikshit died due to cutting by a snake named Takshak. After which his son Janmejaya performed a yajna to eliminate all snakes from the earth, whose effects all the snakes around the world started falling into the fire of that Yagya Kund.

In such a situation, the Takshak Nag hid in the throne of Indra Devta. After this, with the influence of the yajna, Indra Dev’s throne started to be drawn towards Havanakund with Takshak Nag. Seeing this happening, the gods and sages and sages asked Janmejaya to stop the yajna. The gods argued that if all the snakes are over due to this yajna, then the balance of nature would deteriorate.

After this, King Janmejaya ended the yagya by forgiving Takshak Nag. It is believed that after the end of the yajna, they were bathed with milk to remove the burning sensation of the burnt snakes. This day was the day of Nagpanchami. After which the tradition of bathing the serpent deity with milk is going on.
