According to the Panchang, Amavasya Tithi of Shravan month will start on 24 July 2025 at 2:28 pm and will remain till 12:40 pm on 25 July. According to Udayatithi, Hariyali Amavasya will be celebrated on 24 July 2025. Bathing, charity and worship have special significance in Brahma Muhurta on this day. Worshiping Lord Shiva while maintaining purity in the house gives auspicious results.

Inspirational fast story of Hariyali Amavasya

It is a matter of ancient times, a king was living happily in the palace with his wife, son and daughter -in -law. One day the sweet daughter -in -law kept in the kitchen ate, but when she was asked, she lied that the rats ate sweets. The rats heard this lie and felt humiliated. With a sense of revenge, he stole the daughter -in -law’s sari and put it in the guests’ room. When people started talking after seeing the saree there, the king suspected his daughter -in -law’s character and he expelled her from the palace.

The daughter -in -law took shelter in a hut in the forest and started worshiping by lighting a lamp under the Peepal tree every day. After some time the king passed by and was shocked to see the mysterious light of the lamps. When the soldiers went and investigated, the lamp was talking among themselves and telling the truth of the daughter -in -law.

The king realized his mistake and called the daughter -in -law back to the palace respectfully. This story teaches us that worship of Peepal and devotion performed with true heart never goes in vain.
