Best Moments Of The India vs England Test Series: The India vs England Test series 2025 was one of the best Test series of all time. And that is in the 150 years of the history of Test cricket.
All five Tests in the series went to day 5, with a couple of them being thrillers. The series ended in a 2-2 draw, and thus the inaugural Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy was shared.
Let us see the top five moments of this series, which had dozens of memorable moments.
The first major moment of this series came in the third Test at Lord’s when Mohammed Siraj asked England opener Zak Crawley to “grow some f***ing balls” as the right-hander looked to waste some time when facing Jasprit Bumrah in the dying minutes of day 3.
Gill later said that England didn’t play in the spirit of the game, as the openers walked in 90 seconds later than they should have. From that moment on, tempers flared for the rest of the series.
During his century in the fourth Test at Old Trafford, Manchester, Joe Root jumped from being the 5th highest Test run-scorer to the second spot, eclipsing Rahul Dravid, Jacques Kallis, and Ricky Ponting all in one innings.
Root now has 13543 Test runs, sitting 2378 runs behind Sachin Tendulkar.
Ben Stokes and England triggered a controversy with their antics after Ravindra Jadeja refused to shake hands and call the Manchester Test a draw when both Jadeja and Washington Sundar were nearing their respective centuries.
India had batted out five sessions to secure themselves a draw. After giving up on his attempts to bowl India out, Stokes offered a handshake to Jadeja to peace out the eventual draw, but Jadeja refused the offer.
This irked Stokes and England, who, including Harry Brook, chirped at Jadeja and the umpires. Eventually, Jadeja and Sundar reached their respective milestones and accepted the draw.
In a cruel twist of fate, Mohammed Siraj had middled a defensive shot off off-spinner Shoaib Bashir, but unfortunately for Siraj and India, the ball trickled towards the stumps and dislodged the bail, bringing an end to India’s fight in the Lord’s Test and giving England a 22-run victory.
Siraj stood at the crease, crestfallen and heartbroken after fighting for a long while at the crease with Jadeja.
Mohammed Siraj would have his redemption in one of the most glorious fashions as he rode India to a six-run victory in the 5th Test at The Oval.
He took a four-wicket haul in England’s first innings and a five-wicket haul in England’s second innings, including three wickets in the final hour of the game, when England needed 27 runs with four wickets in hand.
Siraj delivered the final nail in the coffin, knocking Gus Atkinson’s off-stump out of the ground to secure the win for India and draw the series.
He finished with 23 wickets and bowled over 185 overs, both tallies the most in this series for any bowler across both teams.
