Amaal Mallik recently opened up about his strained professional relationship with T-Series head Bhushan Kumar. The music composer revealed that certain individuals may have influenced Bhushan's perception of him, leading to a fallout after Amaal rejected an offer to create remixes for a T-Series project. This decision reportedly "shocked" Bhushan, who Amaal considers a father figure in the industry. Despite their creative differences, Amaal emphasised that there's no personal animosity towards Bhushan or T-Series.

Amaal said in a conversation with Shardul Pandit, Amaal said, "It’s like a very stepfather–stepson relationship. Salman Khan launched me, but Bhushan Kumar held my hand and took me to the biggest movies and production houses purely on belief in my talent. He’s completely responsible for Amaal Mallik becoming Amaal Mallik."

He further added, “He’s the biggest man in music, the biggest label in the country. He can literally decide who becomes a star."

Amaal Mallik stood firm due to his strong vision for music. He openly told Bhushan Kumar that he wouldn't compromise on certain aspects, acknowledging that Bhushan might have taken it personally. Amaal attributed this to Bhushan's ego, understanding that he might have reacted similarly if he were in the same position.
