Patanjali Foods Ltd on Thursday reported a 31% drop in consolidated net profit to Rs 180.35 crore for the June quarter weighed down by higher expenses. The company also announced the appointment of former Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Durga Shanker Mishra as a non-executive independent director. Patanjali Foods Q1 Results Net profit in the same quarter last year was at Rs 262.72 crore. According to a regulatory filing total income rose to Rs 8912.69 crore in April–June of FY 2025-26 up from Rs 7202.35 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year. The quarter also saw a rise in other expenses driven mainly by higher advertising spends. Effective May 31 2025 basic customs duty on crude palm sunflower and soybean oils dropped to 10 per cent. This impacted the edible oil demand in Q1 FY26 the company said. Re-appointment Of Swami Ramdev  The board also approved re-appointment of Swami Ramdev as non-executive non-independent director. It also gave nod to appointment of Durga Shanker Mishra as the additional non-executive independent director with effect from August 14 subject to approval of shareholders at the ensuing AGM of the company. The term of appointment of Mishra is for a period of three years. Mishra superannuated on June 30 2024 from the position of Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh. He belongs to the 1984 batch of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) of Uttar Pradesh cadre. He was also secretary of Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.  (With Inputs From PTI)
