Desk: Attacks between Israel and Houthis have been going on for almost two years. While the attacks by Hezbollah and Hamas have stopped due to Israeli action, Houthi rebels are still attacking Israel from time to time. On Sunday morning, the Israeli army took action against the Houthis and carried out a series of attacks in Yemen’s capital Sanaa. According to reports, the attacks were carried out by targeting the Haziz Power Station located south of Sanaa, which is considered one of the important centers supplying electricity to the capital.
A source in the Yemeni Civil Defense Department told Lebanese news agency Al-Mayadeen that the attack hit the station’s generators, causing them to stop working and disrupting power supply to the area. Israeli media later reported that the Israeli navy was behind the attack on the power station. After the attack, a member of the Houthi political bureau, Hazem al-Assad, said that Israel was only targeting service facilities, stressing that the attacks were deliberately targeting Yemen’s vital infrastructure. The Houthis say that Israel is targeting Yemeni civilians in its attacks.
