Nigel Farage is due to give his keynote speech at Reform UK's conference this afternoon. The two-day gathering in Birmingham kicks off today, with the Reform leader due to make his address at around 4pm.

However the party's annual gathering has now been thrown into chaos following the bombshell resignation of Angela Rayner.

The Labour Party has spent months trying to steal the limelight away from Mr Farage, and at long last they have succeeded - though not in the way they may have hoped.

Chairman Dr David Bull is about to take to the stage to formally open proceedings, though whether the public will now pay any attention remains to be seen. Nigel Farage will have to use all his skills of showmanship to take back control of the news agenda.
